4 Feb 2020, Petaling Jaya, in conjunction with Amcorp Group’s Chinese New Year celebrations, Yayasan Azman Hashim (YAH) in collaboration with Amcorp Group Berhad gave 4 scholarships worth RM280,000 to 4 students. The cheque of RM70,000 each was presented by Tan Sri Azman Hashim, Trustee of YAH to Nur Khairin Binti Zahran, Emily Koh Jia Ru, Fahmy Azry Bin Abdul Aziz and Annesa Uzahirah Binti Abdul Hakim to finance their Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) studies.

The scholarship known as Amcorp Study Grant (ASG) was set up in 2011 to offer scholarship to deserving students to pursue ACCA qualification in Malaysia on a full time basis. ASG is a collaborative effort between Amcorp Group Berhad, Amcorp Properties Berhad, RCE Capital Berhad and Yayasan Azman Hashim.

Todate, 27 recipients have benefited from the scholarship. The amount of grant disbursed and committed to all these students are RM1.89 million. Tan Sri Azman Hashim in his speech, hopes the scholarship will nurture more young and talented scholars to become future leaders in our society.

At the event, Amcorp Properties Berhad also donated RM5,000 to Persatuan Kebajikan Orang Orang Tua Bahagia Selangor, a non-profit home for solitary elders. The cheque was presented by Amcorp Properties Chairman, Puan Shalina Azman to Mr Stanley Yap, caretaker of the home. 20 residents of the home joined Amcorp staff to celebrate the Chinese New Year festival.

The guests were entertained with a special performance by the ‘Singing Chairman’ Tan Sri Azman Hashim who belted out 3 songs including 2 Chinese songs. There was a lion dance performance and another signing performance by Godfrey Ooi, who is visually challenged.

Guests also enjoyed the prosperity toss “Yee Sang” and other delicacies.
